Hearts* Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Hi guys, I have seen little discussion for this race...Anyways I would like to know if thorns are a problem in this area? I ride with slimed tubes only? Also what pressure should be good given the muddy predictions? by voorbaat dankie...
VT2jp Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Thorns are not an issue on this race. Expect mud though!!! TP +/- 1.8bar. Be careful to go too low with non-tubeless for risk of snakebites..
sometime Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 No thorn issues at all. Last year was very cold and wet. Tyre pressure depends on tyre size + body weight so can't answer that but with tubes you're probably need an absolute minimum of 2 bar on a 29er if not higher. The risk with tubes is snakebike punctures and there are a few places on that route where that can happen
