I have the above Polar HRM, using it for both Road and Mtb's.

Got Speed sensor on both bikes, and only Cadence sensor on Roadbike.

Few weeks back started getting intermittend recording of both speed and cadence on Roadbike, and then no recording at all. Thinking it is probably down to rundown batteries, I replaced both batteries (CR2032), but still nothing. When passing magnet pass the sensor, I see the little light flashing, so there is "life" in there.

Checked my settings on the watch, seems to be correct (did not change anything in the first instance)

Took my speed sensor off my Mtb (which was working 100%) and fitted it to my roadbike. It is working perfectly.

What can it be? Can both sensors "die" at the same time (both fitted same time). Is it time for new sensors?

Mine did the same a while back - it would 'flicker' whem passing the magnet initially but then stop working after 10 - 15 rotations.

Turn out the magnet - small black one - is a magnetized cylinder that 'loses' its charge after a while.

I bought an old school R 30 wheel magnet - no problems since.

Maybe check that.

Same crap the other day, had my watch send in and bat replaced by agents, got back and didnt want to pickup sensor from wheel, had a good look, saw the set it to runnung and not bike, prob a default when bat is removed. felt bit like a nob....

Atleast its working again.

But the same magnet is working with my MTB sensor I have on there now. I'm stumped.

Frankly, I just do not look forward to fork out a lot of dosh on new sensors (which is probably gonna happen)

I have the same problem. My speed sensors all all the bikes stopped working, so I've tried my wife's 720i polar and now the speed works on all the bikes.

So the 725X unit is faulty AGAIN. it has been replaced in the past (R1200) that time I thought that is cheaper to fix it. But 2 years later and now faulty again.

So for now I use my wifes 720i polar, but the altitude on this unit also doesn't work :(

I've replaced the HR straps 6 months ago, but don't feel like spending more money on maintenance on these polars.

It is 7 years old.

Thinking of the Garmin 500. But that is also a load of money...

True but it will be money well spent...awesome little device....fit and forget....no speed sensor magnets etc to worry about...it just works.
