Or you could just fit a cross mark 26 x 2.25 tire to your 26" rims. Same thing.

Same diameter. Same rolling circumference.

One would almost swear, some of you didn't do mathematics at school.

" a fool and it's money.....Arequipa soon parted "

So what you are saying is that somebody buys these 26" tyres and he has a rock shox he will not have suffiecient clearance on the fork.650b has clearance issues on a Rock Shox so these tyres will have the same issue . Dunno, I was terrible at maths.

Also considering to buy a 26" Scott Spark and convert to 27.5".

Currently have a Niner Hardtail but would like to have a full suspension bike for races like Mankele 3 Towers and rough Marathon races.

Would like to keep both bikes, as I just love my Niner (On certain terrain).

Have anyone tried to fit a 650b wheel on a DT Swiss XR100 Fork?

How much spacers to add to lift brake callipers, or do you use 180 adapters for 160 mm rotors, or keep everything the same and just add bigger rotors?

I have a 26inch Merida team 96 Carbon. I am a lady and only 160cm in height. I can"t afford a 29er or a new 27.5inch bike. Apparently you can put 27,5 inch wheels on to your 26inch frame. Does anyone have advice as to wether or not I should do this and why? My merida is a few years old so I don't think it falls under the warranty. Apparently if I try sell my merida i"ll get nothing for it as it's a 26inch. Its got all the best components (i bought it second hand from a pro). Much appreciated :)

you are welcome to bring your bike past me,I have several pairs of 650b wheelsets that I am using,I can fit the rear wheel in for you and you will have an answer immediately

I am also in north Jhb

Did mine and loving every pedal stroke on it....as long as its used for the correct terrain/application! I tried my luck at the fountains xc race with my 29er  should have used the 27.5 instead but due to the "pro's use it, so should I" syndrome I opted for the 29er HT. Went back to fountains/Groenies on the spark 27.5 and it was awesome, much better acceleration out of all the tight corners!

Luckily I used the 29er for Sani this year and love it

Horses for courses...remember a golfer has more than one club and an angler has more than one fishing rod....thats what I tell my wife to justify having more than one bike

I allready converted my china hardtail, no problems.

Doing my spark after comrades.

Had to change my reba shock to a slightly older SID that had the higher Crown, good clearance .

Just need to re-assemble the whole bike again

I am not saying that the 650 will be like riding a 29er, but I refuse to sell a full carbon spark for 5k because 26" has no value.

Nice compromise until the spark breaks or get stolen, then I will go 29er

I Agree.

WOW sounds good any pictures? I'm keen on converting my spark to 27.5". I think a FOX CTD shox up front would work perfectly as i already upgraded the NUDE 2 to a CTD Fox.

Hi Cath .... I am really keen to hear the logic behind how a 29'er will mess up your knees ...

+1. Never heard that argument before...

+2

It's not Cath's logic, it's "some poephols" ;)

A pic of the hardtail, currently the spark is dismantled, cleaning it at a rate of a part per week.

But will have more time in June, then I will complete the project

Thank you for the pics it looks really good.

I have a 2012 Spark but looking at the rear i don't think ill have clearance to fit a 27.5" its already very tight.http://olx-t.imgrap.com/ui/23/60/80/435146080_3x.jpg?x=1361533696&country=PT
