Customs Holding Parcel

I ordered a wheelset from CRC and our lovely Customs department has decided to hold the 1 box back.

Who can I phone to find out why it has not been released yet?

Phone the Joburg International Mail Centre (011) 9616000.

 

Good luck getting through though - it's a nightmare. They had a parcel of mine for a month until I threw my toys and they eventually released it!!!

How was it sent? Courier or post?

 

If courier, call them - I had a problem once with a FedEx package and they had all the info as to why it was stopped at customs (in my case, documents were incorrect).

 

If post office, try the Cape Mail Hub. All my international parcels seem to come through them (I live in Western Cape). They have been very helpful in the past, all you need is the international tracking number.

Customs is a real pain. especially when CRC et al send a wheelSET in 2 seperate boxes of one wheel each, with the same documentation on each box.

I had lots of fun sending it all back and forth for re-evaluation after they charged full vat and clearence on each indiv wheel and not the wheelSET as a whole. muppets.

customer services are a nightmare to get through to. and the EMS guy is rude and unhelpful, and then doesnt like being shouted at.
