I personally prefer when they were a funk rock band(pre - Blood Sugar Sex Magik), anything from One Hot Minute and before is awesome , my favourite being Uplift Mofo Party Plan, love the Secret Song on that album.

 

I used to be a member of their original fan club, Rockinfreakapotamus, I would even go so far as to say they influenced me in getting tattoos.

I will miss John though, especially his falsetto singing at live shows ie. Slane Castle, how epic was Venice Queen there !?

Perhaps Josh will find his feet in their next album, not 100% keen on his "on-off" guitar sound in "I'm with you".
