I bought a fork last year that ended up having a partially stripped thread for the disc brakes (post mount)

Managed to get by with a longer screw.

It has worked fine up until this morning when I heard a bit of rattling and saw that the screw had come out. Finished the ride alright using the bolt from the top cap of my fork, but it only just gets purchase.

Where in Cape Town can I get a Helicoil fitted? Typical Cost? Time?

Is that what I need for a partially stripped crank (pedal thread) too.?

That will work but just make sure you get the correct direction.

One side is left hand thread and the other is right hand tread

They did a great job on my Echo crank! Pedal was completely stripped. They welded, drilled and re-tapped.
