Less than 6 weeks to race day. Is it making you excited or a bit nervous?

Both. Very excited for the whole race day experience and nervous for the training that needs to be done. Training is going well. The last week or two's rain made cycling training difficult. So I am a little behind on that.

My progress to date:

Swim 70%

Cycle: 65%

Run: 60%

Goal is 85%+ by end of Dec.

I can do all the distances, now its putting it all together. So I am focusing a lot on brick sessions over the next 3 weeks.

Dunno if im Ready.....

haven't been on the bike since 94.7...blink.png

How are the training going for all you??

All I've been doing is the bike :(

Having trouble with my back and running seems to make it worse. Will give it a few more weeks and then start running again.

Kinda glad it was a tough day for me at Jailbreak, I now know on what I should focus for the next 6 weeks.

Swim was good, bike was great, run was terrible.

When I got of the bike I felt 100%, but 500m into the run I know I had problems. My stomach just felt full of fluids (like I had drunk 2L of Energade!) and it was very uncomfortable to run. Side stitch didn't help. Will have to do some more brick sessions where I ride like 50km and then go run. Think my nutrition might have been to blame... but good to know where the problem areas are now.

I had a similar experience - fell apart on the run big time! Had a terrible stomach on the bike already and didnt end up drinking enough and by the time the run came it was to late and then it was a case of drinking to much as i was so thirsty. Ran just over and hour but was aiming for closer to 50 mins wacko.png

Did you see the guy that passed out and looked like he was having a fit ... looked quite serious

Yes, not too worried, 21km isn't that far smile.png

Usually but in 30 deg + weather after a long ride ... could get ugly up bunkers hill

How did your Jailbreak go? Splits?

Results arent out yets but roughly from my data/memory

19min/1h27/1h01 but not sure of the total time with transition but i think either just under or just over 3hrs. Transition wasnt great - couldnt find my stupid bucket and lost a couple of mins.

I am pretty much in the same boat as you. My swimming is stronger than last year this time. Bike is also stronger on the shorter rides. My longest ride was 80km. My shins are killing me on the long runs which is suppose to be my strongest discipline.

What were the distances for each discipline?
