Yes - improved the handling responsiveness - a definate improvement - must do - if you don't like it you can always go back - takes 2 minutes to do.

by dropping the BB height?

The bike is stock with a low BB height, slack headset angle - swapping the little pod thing around makes the headset angle steeper and raises the BB a few mm - this improves the handling (imho) by making it more responsive to steering inputs - something not everyone will like, but otoh, everyone I know with a spark 29er (at least 5 people) who have done this have preferred it.

I did this as soon as i bought mine so cannot comment on the difference, but will play around so i can better understand/appreciate the difference.

Easy to do - undo the alan key in the oval washer, remove bolt - turn washer 180 degrees, put bolt back - there are only 2 positions it fits in - use the one it is not in.

cool, will give it try and see if I notice the difference... :-)

Apart from raising the bb by 7mm, I don't quite know what difference the 0.5 degrees in the head tube makes??

I've had mine on the high setting all the time, & also running the stem at a positive angle. Some guys have their stems running down

but they look like they riding a superbike..??

OK tried the high position. I don't like it - you sit so much more forward on your handlebar that my hands hurt. Handling is twitchy and you really have to lean back on downhill sections. And I fell within 5 minutes on a wet Groenkloof which also did not help with the confidence of the new setting.

I went back to low - mostly because of the pressure on the hands- the increased handling was not worth the conns.
