Squishy brakes

Hi All.

 

i have the shimano BR-M575 brake levers.

 

my problem is that i can pull the rear brake to maximum force without it locking the wheel, the front brake locks the wheel real quick. you can feel the lack of preasure when you pull both levers at the same time.

 

i have blead the brakes and had 2 LBS bleed the brakes and this issue still remains.

 

what could be a problem?, should i look at changing the brake levers? brake pads? or calipers? or the complete system?

 

what would be a good brake system to look at? i am not stuck on Shimano so any would be ok if it came to that.

Replace the pads and give the rear disc a proper cleaning with brake cleaner. Then give the rear disc a light sanding with some 400grit sand paper.

 

Does the lever feel firm when you pull it or slightly spongy?

Hi guys.

 

the brake pull feels spongy.

 

i have adjusted the brake pull and when you hit the maximum force to pull the lever so that it does not move anymore the wheel still does not lock.
