More info about this race

The Totalindex Outback MTB Challenge will take place on Saturday, 27 October 2012, in Villiers (which is just an hour’s drive from JHB). The race will once again start and finish at Villiers High School BUT will not follow the same route as in 2011. There is a BRAND NEW ROUTE !! The new route will offer you dirt road, lots of technical single-track, rocky descents, spectacular river-side track and an old railway iron bridge crossing.

With the help of a keen mountain biker we have devised this trail to suite even the thrill-seeker !!! The 34km is for the intermediate rider. The 50km is for the more adventurous.

The race is held in conjunction with Villiers High School’s Market Day. There is also a 4x4 Trail ride scheduled for the afternoon. Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day !!! Food Stalls, Beer-Tent and much more will keep the kids entertained.

You can also stand a chance of walking away with one of our stunning lucky-draw prizes, which includes weekend-away packages, hampers, etc. There are also category prizes. Please note that participants (MTB Challenge) have to be present at prize giving to qualify.

This will be an experience you will never forget!

total climb on the 34Km?

Things to consider when examining a profile. Incline over distance. This is ideally suited for the beginner to intermediate rider

Thanks very much. Sorry, I have registed and paid. What I meant was the collection of numbers, etc and the start of the race.

Feedback:

Regarding the race, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The technical stuff was challenging. The rocky cattle paths had me sweating and battling to catch my breath.... I nearly k*ked myself on the train bridge, as I am scared of heights J

Would I do it again....?....Absolutely! I would prefer to do it on a 29r, but it was worth the effort.
