If want to go 10 speed do I have to purchase everything - shifters, derailleur, cassette and crank? Can I get away with just the cassette and the shifters? Sorry for the doff question. Pipsqueak Posted September 19, 2012 Share Thanks for the replies guys, did a few searches in Tech Shack - no joy. So why can't I use my old derailleur? Derailleurs aren't indexed are they? I'd probably buy a double xt crank and new shifters (obviously with the 10 sp cassette and chain), but what would be the difference between a new long cage derailleur and the one I have?
