Just wanted to say that the Karoo2Coast....best one day race in SA!!

K2C is definitely one of the rides that stand out as a 'must do'. I do feel that the Dr Evil Classic is a bit of a 'distraction' to this already popular ride though.

I finally did it this year after wanting to do it for years. What a great route. Will definitely try to do it next year again. Will be great to not start in the back bunch though and get cought in that bottleneck on the Ou Wa Pad.

Peter, don't know where you started, but the problems start early on. I started in 2nd group and you're forced to ride at the stream ahead of you's tempo... until somebody looses it 2 ahead of you on some loosenes (and good grief, I'm a "dirt roadie" and never felt i was close to any issues ito difficulty! ) and you're forced to walk for a while till you find a gap in the stream. (But maybe I'm just overly polite in that sense.)

Great race, just the racetech queue that was extremely long. Seems than 90% of the participants forgot their race chips at home (me included). Was my 3d race and started in Group 2 and got through Ou Wa Pad quite quickly, but I remember from my first race in 2010, when I was litterary the last person to cross the start line, how frustrating that first section was - unfit and inexperienced riders walking and falling all over the place.
