I converted my road bike to 1x using a 50 tooth Absolute Black oval chainring up front and a Shimano XT 11-40 cassette at the back with an Ultegra RX derailleur to handle the shifting. It works beautifully and I have all the gears I need. I don't use it for gravel riding though.

Probably letting the air out of the shock would be the easiest. You will obviously need a shock pump though.

Isn't it possible to remove the spider and fit a direct mount chainring?

The 12 speed XT shifter is available with a bar clamp. I don't know if you can purchase the clamp separately though.

Use a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the bolt head then you can use a flat screwdriver to remove it.

Go to a bolt supplier and ask for a high tensile bolt.

The air pressure is to control the return speed of the dropper and not to keep it up.

Go to Crossways you will not be disappointed.

The chances of finding an 8mm long bolt are slim. Some cutting may be required.

Ouch, I forgot to put my flamesuit on. You are all missing the point. I was not making a direct comparison but merely pointing out that NX is way down on the hierarchy with SX now below it as pointed out by DieVlieg, and you get what you pay for.......

I think one needs to understand the groupset hierarchy and compare apples with apples. NX is sitting right at the bottom of the SRAM range, it is what it is. If you want better then you need to fork out $$$. I personally have over 1000 km's on a GX Eagle groupset and it hasn't skipped a beat. Yes the shifting is not as crisp and smooth as XO1 or XT but I don't expect it to be. SRAM Shimano XX1 XTR XO1 XT X1 SLX GX Deore NX Alivio

I was at Makro recently and it seems that irrespective of the brand, i.e. Totem, Raleigh, Cannondale, all of the adult bicycles are only available in one size and that is medium.

Someone commented several pages back that Makro only brought in mediums.
