  1. +1 for Irma Been going to her for a few years. Highly recommended
  2. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. I read the bit re Portugal Nature Trails. They look organizedand very nice. They just seem a bit more expensive than a few of the other options, but they look like the "most luxury'' option. Edusport looks cheap in comparison, but it difficult to compare if you don't have the exact details regarding hotels, bikes included etc...
  3. I would like to do a gravel tour/road less travelled option. Point to point trip is first price, but I'm open to suggestions. I usually organize all my own trips, but this time around am lazy and I'm looking for a bit more comfort.
  4. Anybody on the forum that has used Edusport to book a bike trip. I'm interested in doing a trip maybe Portugal. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.
  5. In a perfect world it should be safe to cycle anywhere, but we stay in SA. Why people still cycle past Kayamandi amazes me.
  6. I'm currently training for the 36One Challenge. At the moment I'm struggling with a ''slight issue with my knee'' I'm desperate not to miss the event, but I also don't want to do and not be able to finish. Anyone who has done hyperbaric therapy to help speed up recovery? Is it worth the expense, is it recommended? Comments and advise would be appreciated.
  7. I have a pair of Lake. You can't go wrong with them. Pricey, but worth it.
  8. Hi Currently I own a Merida Silex 4000 2025 Model. After a bit of finetuning I'm loving the bike and everything it has to offer. My dream gravel bike would be one that can take a 29 x 2.25 tyre. I like the look of the Sling Tagati. They are based in SA which should make buying it a bit less complicated than a Curve. Any Tagati owners out there that can give some feedback on their experiences?
  9. Did the 120 km race. Lovely race and day all round. Well organized, lovely venue for the start and finish. The route was well marked with beautiful scenery. I also think a slightly earlier start might be nice considering the heat. I stay at the campsite for the Friday evening, which worked very nicely. It had nice shower and toilet facilities overlooking a huge dam. Can highly recommend it.
  10. Entered for the 120 km. They are predicting a mild 24 degrees for Saturday and wind looks okay 🙂
  11. Anybody knows the dates for the Munga Grit Tankwa for 2024?
  12. Hi Anybody know where/how I can rent a Wattbike? I love my Wattbike sessions, but it takes up a lot of my time in terms of traveling and taking me away from the office. My work situation is very fexible, but it will save me a lot of time and travelling if I can do my Wattbike workouts at home. (I stay in the Boland/Cape Town area) Any advice/ideas?
  13. Conditions were tough. By conditions I mean wind. For the rest of the race everything was very nice. Good challenge to test your endurance and preparation, beautiful scenery and as usual the Dryland waterpoints were all top notch. Everything you expect from a Dryland race in terms of organization. I will be sad it the race doesn't stick around for the long term.
  14. Dankie Gemmerbal - dis heerlike leesstof vir iemand wat oorweeg om vanjaar die Munga te doen. Ek sien uit na die vlg aflewering.
  15. I'm more worried about the weather than the road conditions 😅 Looking at posts from previous years, I would say go with a MTB if you want comfort. If you want to challenge for the podium go for a gravel bike.
