Disc Brakes - Hope vs Shimano vs Formula

TX for all the replies! Currently I have 2012 XT brakes... The replies made me think!

 

You have 2012 XT Brakes an you are asking about brakes? Dude... it's like dating Halle Berry and still wondering if you should try and flirt with Angelina Jolie.... just let it go... save it for another time.

 

I've said it before, I'd say it again, you CANNOT upgrade from a set of XT 2012 brakes..... everything else will be a downgrade... or at most be "similar" in performance (R1).

I have just put a set of Formulas on was using Elixir Cr's which were great for me and I rate them over the 770 Xt's

 

but the Formul's are in a class of their own they really do feel powerful and to put in context was on 185 upfront with Elixir and now on 160 upfront with the R1's only because had so little time to find a bigger rotor

 

Anyway point is the R1's are more than capable as they are so save a few bucks upgrading .. and they are superlight so an added bonus and picked them up for a great price from a certain poster on this topic.. the likes that even CRC dont compare

 

I was just informed there is a problem with your specific pair, I'll refund you, please send them back ASAP.

 

I will put them on one of my other bikes just to make sure they are okay....

What about Magura Brakes?? I see Specialized has moved to them for 2013...
