Wayne Booysen Posted October 4, 2012 Share Sidi's top-level offering is the Wire, a no-compromise model for top-level racers. This shoe replaces last season’s Ergo 3, and weighs 60 grams less. The shoe has no buckles, just two line-closure (wire) systems that snug the shoe onto your foot, and is designed to fit feet with low to medium arches. The upper is made entirely of Lorica, Sidi’s proprietary synthetic leather, and closable openings in the Vent Carbon Sole—the same used on Ergo 3—provide extra ventilation. Speedplay users can also opt for a dedicated sole with a four-bolt pattern to mount cleats without an adapter plate. Sidi produces men’s and women's versions of the Wire in white, though the men’s shoe also comes in high-vis fluorescent yellow.
