Yeah, nice story, but I think he must be bored as hell, riding 10 hours a day leaves very little time to do anything else, which makes me think he has nothing else to do - (ie) bored.! :D

I am also retired, so theoretically I also have the time, but as I said to my wife the other day, I am so busy now, I dont know how I found time to work all those years.!

There was a guy in matric, Michael Angliotti who later went on to marry Frith vd Merwe of Comrades fame. As a school boy he used to cycle from Boksburg to Durban non stop to spend time at their sea side house.

Yeah, I knew a guy as well, crazy as a loon, was always riding around and one day decided to ride to Cape Town from JHB, do the Argus and ride back. Got everything planned, had support from his wife in a car, took a month off and set off.

To his credit he got to Cape Town in fairly good spirits, rode the Argus, rested a few days and rode back, said it was hell, nearly died, swore at every motorist and every truck, eventually he got home and hung up his bike in the garage.

Never touched it again. Thats probably 10 or more years back now.

haha ja i hear the same story from my inlaws / mom, they never have time to anything out of the ordinary and are so busy often dont know what day of the week it is...LOL

Was reading another article on this dude, this time front page of the local rag with a picture of him nogal....amazing what makes the front page here LOL

But ja he was saying that even tho he often has to ride the same routes over and over he never gets bored and every little village he rides thru is still as interesting as the first time...
