Help me buy new road wheels

Hey hubbers ....

Looking at replacing my road wheels.

The Shimano DA 7900 C24 look awsome but pricey. The RS80 C24's seem the be the same wthout the DA hubs, and a few thousand ronts cheaper.

These will not be my race wheels or my training wheels. They will be my only wheels.

Any advice on these or others?

for me - the best value to performance set of wheels, training and or racing are the American Classic CR420.

Thanks - I'll do some reading on those.

Anyone else?

+1 on the AM 420 aeros. Great for training and racing.

Budget bru? Check out the Darkhorse wheels thread.

I'm looking for solid, serviceable wheels that will last me years.

Happy to spend R4-R5k. I'll spend more if it's something really worth the extra $$$.

Not that strong I hear...

I prefer something with a track record. To me, these are no-name-brand.

I've been using RS80's for about 18 months, zero problems, fantastic wheel imo.

Only difference between them and the DA is the hub (and the price).

If money's no object, get the DA. If you want a great set of wheels for a fair price, you won't go wrong with the RS80's

Thanks Falco.

Do you find them stiff and responsive?

Where did you buy them?

I might buy them if they weren't so light.
