Dual Sus vs Carbon Hardtail

Hi Guys,

 

Its time for my girlfriend to upgrade her bike.

 

She enjoys her singletrack, but not really keen on going at the speed of light. I think she likes to keep her pretty face pretty.

 

Now comes my question... Should she go for a nice xc dual sus like a spark or anthem or maybe a carbon hardtail because she wouldn't really need that extra shock?

 

She was sold on the Silverback Senza DS but then the guy at Cycle Factory told me they were only sold in Europe. Also she'd like to buy a new bike.

 

Price range 15-20k

I have a Giant Trance W with some pretty great components that I'd like to sell.

 

Frame is like new, with XO twist shifters, RockShox SID WC fork, ZTR alpine wheels and truvative carbon bar and seatpost, ritchey stem.

I like the Trance W, i have a trance myself, i just think thats unnecessary travel for someone of her riding style.

Good quality travel is never too much travel.

 

The more trail orientated geometry would also help your GF feel far more comfortable on the ST (Which you say she enjoys) and the Meastro suspension is good stuff!

 

Unless of course she is a race snake.

 

Go with the Giant and have a good fun bike.
