So I got one of those Kids trailers that attach to the back of my bike, my twin girls are just loving riding around the neighborhood. Is there any safe places in the PTA / Jhb area where I can take them off road (Jeeptrack of course). I considered Groenkloof, but the weekend warriors ride a bit 'MAL'?

Groenkloof is also good for a buggy . Obviously you will not follow the normal routers but stick to the bigger roads . You can easily get 15km riding in and also see most of the animals . Go out the normal way but don't turn up the little tar climb , go straight and follow road .

Not sure which one you got but mine is very uncomfortable for my daughter when going offroad. I recomend an initial short test ride to see how your daughters and trailer handle the conditions.

I would be interested in one for my son, Tristan who is 7, turning 8 in February next year. As some of you might know, Tristan is autistic and cannot ride a bike at the moment, but it would be fantastic to be able to put him in a trailer and he would absolutely love it, but the problem is that most of the trailers have a weight and hight restriction. Are there any bigger trailers/buggies available? Here he is in his special bootspost-26136-0-11081800-1352120016_thumb.jpg

I'm in Joburg. My trailer affixes to the frame on both dropouts and is very solid. I use it on a fs bike but am sure if you put it on a ht it would be solid enough. You are welcome to try it out.

Thanks for the offer. I was also thinking more of the offroad route as I don't like the idea of taking my son on a road with plenty of traffic. Could you please post a pic of your trailer?

Try the Jeep pram , the jogger with some simple modifications. Best place to go is Rietvlei in Alberton (not Pretoria). Has great tracks /trails easy to jog in through forest and a small farm and bird zoo. Plus breakfast is good as small restaurant. Great bike store too!

Jog slowly.

If you have a kids bike rack where kids are on back , note the bike becomes very unstable and on dismounting can fall over!! Be unusually cautions on sand roads, bends and bumps.

I ride quiet suburb roads. Maybe a load heavier than a 3.5 year old 14 kg little girl might be more stable.

Cant post pics off my phone but if you Google Giant Peapod you'll find some.

There is a crowd in Cape Town who make an off road trailer (claim). One wheeler with suspension.
