Drug abused - enforced testing

Regarding the positive test of DG and Nedbank pulling out as sponsors of Life360 I think this is the sponsors as well as team managers fault.

Firstly a few years ago I challenged all the Pro team managers to get all their team members tested and have the results publicly released. There were no response to that.

Secondly I think that any sponsor getting involved must have a clause in their contracts that riders must be tested regularly and results released to the sponsorship manager.

 

But all the sponsors are interested in is the results as that are more publicity and advertisment to them. So what ever the teams and team members are doing they turn a blind eye until one get caught then they want to jump up and down and pull sponsorship.

 

If you make any investment will you just sit and wait until something goes wrong and then complain?

 

On the other hand it is maybe time where the sponsors should lay a charge of fraud against any rider testing positive. This should be possible as the rider that had a contract to represent the sponsor and produce results used illegal means to do that.
