They usually allow substitutions at registration.

I am in the same boat. Not going to bother with any name changing, I am just going to ride and enjoy, starting right at the back.

Spoke to the race office this morning, subs can be made at waterfall estate today or tomorrow. Cost is R 50, I think it is wise to have your medical details linked to your race number - you never know!
