Good day

The topic has most probably been discussed. Went the 29 er route with 2 x10 crank. Running a 38 currently on the big ring. Is this the norm and does this cater for most racing conditions?

It should, really. Gearing on a niner is slightly more "difficult" than a 6er given the same chaunring sizing and cassette sizing, so a 38 would be like a 40. Should be perfect for most conditions.

More than happy with my 2x10 setup on my 29er easy to get used to from my previous bike (3x9 26er) Just spinning a little on my highest gear on a flat

,that problem can be solved by changing to a 39 teeth chain ring

I have 28/42 on my one bike and 26/39 on the other. 11-36 at the back. Hardly ever use te 42x11 and I don't run out off gears on the 39x11.

Go 26/39 and 11-36 cluster. It is all you wil ever need
