Turned out to be a crack in a carbon fork, but lower down than yours. Moral..it can LOOK acceptable, then let you down badly at the worst possible moment

So far the comments you made are far from posessing the slightest bit of humor. But then on the other side your behaviour makes it easy to notice you aren't a Safa and makes you stand out of the SA group of the forum members here. Thanx to all the other guys - I gave the bike back to my bud. He actually rode that bike for some time without knowing about the crack. Luckily nothing happened there. Anyone with a 50 cm frame looking for a carbonfibre fork? I borrowed another friends Specialized Tarmac yesterday and did a tour around Cape Town. Awesome ride as always, the bike a kiff ride, the Brownies from Compass backery prooved to be the best excercise food again

[/quote'] so the shaft was still in one piece but you could feel it when doing above 50 km/h? geeez, good job spotting the fault!
