GoPro Hero3 - Multiple files

Hi guys

 

excuse if it's a stupid question, never used before.

 

Got home, pulled card and inserted into laptop, noticed that my 1 Hour, 15 min is represented by 4 mpeg 4 files, with a thm file (which seems to be an image)

Yes, it's running the newest firmware update.

Let me expand this question,

 

working on a MAC, using iMovie for now, might look at FCP later.

 

I've copied the mpeg4 files to my local machine, and then imported them into iMovie, takes forever.

 

So question #1, is there a faster way?

 

doing some googling, it seems some people first use iSkysoftware tool to convert to *.mov and then start using iMovie?

 

Someone with experience, can you advise whats faster/better.
