American Classic 101 29er rims

I received my first batch of American Classic 101 29er rims today. What a gorgeous looking black aluminium rim with plain subtle AC branding.

 

Lighter than the Crest but reputed to be much stiffer, I can't wait to build up a few sets to see how they perform.

 

25mm external width, 21mm internal width and 18mm deep.

 

Just weighed a few samples. 101 came in at 375g, Crest 402g. Both 29er 32 holes.

Same prices as Crest, or maybe a bit less, like the weight difference.

Don't think so, this is an all new rim designed to give AC an answer to the Crest.

They (IMHO) don't have to give an answer to Crests in anyway, they've always been better, and better looking. Nice rims, now I regret selling my set of AC hubs a week ago..!? Darn..
