Just spent a day out and about for work and stopping off at pretty much all the bike shops in the Southern 'burbs of CT and surrounds.

Jeez, what a huge difference in service. Now I've worked in bike shops and I'm fuming about how I was treated at some places as customer who was looking to spend a good wedge on a bike.

In fact two or 3 were so busy being uber kewl that they didn't even bother to engage to find out if I was there for a dust cap or a R20K bike.

That said Epic, CWC and Cycle Factory were awesome. Took time, went through a few options and didn't feel like that were shifting stock. Thumbs up and nice to see decent customer service is alive and well.

interesting. any chance of you listing the stores you visited, and rate em in various categories? all subjective of course, but still interesting.

Thought about that but I'd rather give respect to those who went about it the right way. The other's will do what they do and people will either buy from them based on that or not. Not going to rubbish them, their staff are doing a good enough job of that.

Was just interesting to visit so many shops in quick succession and be able to take in the range, attitudes and approaches. Vastly different.

np. totally understand. I personally dont see it as a rubbishing per se, I'm sure some LBS are scanning thehub. I'd hope they'd be professional enough to read the opinion and use it to their advantage. Not go sit in a corner and sulk. But no problemo. Pity though, was personally very interested in my preferred LBS, Action cycling. (don't have shares there just in case you wondering! :P )
