Its simple...as it becomes more and more expensive to travel by carm(ins SA R1/km in 1.6 toyota), drvie 2500km, your fuel only is R2500. Thats a big whack...70% of that goes to tax, then multiply that by 3 for wear and tear, maintenance and replacement cost... it makes sence to cycle in. If you drive <10km to work you're mad

to be honest I have very few problems on my route to work. What I do see is that people are more tolerant when I'm on my cheap MTB. But on the road racing bike...its different.
