Hi

 

was a Rant now a Rave :-)

 

Been a-while since I had such a bad online shopping experience...

 

Placed a online order for 5.10 Freeriders Saturday, the 22nd. On Monday during the day I waited for any sort of reply informing me on the progress etc but nothing.

 

Bewteen 3 and 4pm (Monday) I started phoning them and no one could tell me why I have not been contacted or even the progress on my order and said they will give me a call asap - at 11:00 today still nothing and decided to phone them to enquire - I started with the whole story again and got same reply they will contact me asap I decided to rather cancel the whole thing.

Just got email from them, seems the guy responsible for checking online orders is off sick - they did offer me 10% discount and sending it asap - happy days

I think they are run by CItyRock in cpt. He says that their stock is 6 months out at this point... but that could be delayed because 510 keeps delaying.

 

I just went through this whole thing and ended up just ordering through CRC. Got nailed badly with import duties, but yeah, I will live.

Whenever I read stories like this, it makes me think of something I experienced while working in the UK.

 

I wanted to buy a new guitar, plus some accessories. I found out that I could buy the git plus (quite a lot of) accessories from Germany for the same price as the git in the UK. So I ordered online, after lunch (say 2pm) from http://www.thomann.de/

 

12 o'clock the next day I get a phone call: 'This is DHL. We have a package for you.'

'You can't have' I say, 'I'm not expecting anything.'

'We do' they say, 'Come and fetch it'.

 

Blow me down, there was my stuff. Less than 24hrs from warehouse in Germany to door step (and back to depot because I wasn't home).

similar story, except from cape town via Ireland (CRC). 3 days from pushing the Order button, to fitting the shoes on. I have yet to receive something from CWC, or anyone local that fast in relative terms. Just saying.. :whistling:

 

but i feel for the City Rock guys: cool bunch, but when u stuck on the arse end of the planet, you at the mercy of much more than just low volume local sales. :unsure:
