Looking for weekly rides (MTB / Road) - Parkhurst Area

Hi,

 

I've recently relocated to JHB and looking for weekly rides (MTB / Road). I live in Parkhurst so I'd be up for any rides starting close to this vicinity.

 

Ideally looking for past endurance 'athletes' looking to get back into the swing of things.

 

At the moment, I'm good for a 30km MTB and 60km road ride at a medium pace.

Loads going on round here. Go to the Swampdogs website, very active group. Dunkeld Cycles for road. Or just wait for a guy called Chris Fro.. something or other to get back from his little jaunt around France.

Be sure you get hold of this Chris Fro.. something or other, very quickly, before he fades like his teammate Sir Bradley Wig... something or other ...

Dunkeld Cycles crew leaves from Buckingham Ave traffic circle in Craighall Park at 5h00 on Wed and 5h15 on Friday going for about 35km on tar. Bikes are a mix of road bikes and MTB's with Friday bringing out all the single speeds, fixies, bamboo bikes etc. Pace is varied depending on everyone's mood but usually enough riders to find your own pace with. Group is small now in winter but gets very big in summer. Good social bunch but some serious training to be had if you're up for it. Else head up a little bit further up to Engen garage corner Oxford and Glenhove in Rosebank to join the ICG group at 5h00 Tuesday to Friday. 99% road bikes and often pretty hard and fast over approx 40km.

A Mountain bike group meeting Wednesday's 8h00 at Fratelli's Conrad drive .Mostly social 20km .

Usually 04h55 at parkview shell, Tuesdays and Fridays for a 30km ish road ride.

Know this is an old thread, but looking for peeps to do tempo MTB rides with on Wed and Fri mornings.

 

+-20k/hr, 05:00/05:30 for 1.15-2hrs.
