We did discuss this. :D

We would even assist in the building of additional more hectic drop lines down there. The hard part would be to make the signage at the top more scary for them. Lol

We did indeed :)

The runs already named "broken ribs" so dont know how to make it any scarier than that :D

You guys should go try the drops at Thaba if you want bigger

I hope Nolipoli and Peach don't mind. These are all from their FB galleries.

Just some of the drops at Thaba. There are quite a few ranging in size.

Semi - hi-jack here.

Speaking of drop-offs, how the hell does one do the top drop-off on Vasbyt? I'm referring to the one which has a small root drop into a big root/stump drop 1.5m further on?

It seems that if you go too fast you'll just end up in all kinds of trouble not clearing the whole thing, but too slow and you are in for some good old fashioned over the bars onto your head fun times.

I don't have a picture of the section, but it is rather famous.

You just have to pin it and hold on dude.

I'm with you on this - I'm in the zone where I'm going sorta too slow to just let rip but too fast to plonk down. You just have to get back and treat it like a normal drop - let the bike do its thing underneath you - it's what it's good at after all!

If you're going fast enough you actually clear all the nasties. So once you're past a certain speed, it becomes LESS technical. Strange but true. I'm yet to get there, but I'm getting there slowly. Funny thing is I hit all (most) of the jumps on the DH 3 line next to the jeep track. So it's purely a mental thing.

Yeah, it's weird.

But, I've only been riding for 7 months now, so I think I need some more time. I've only recently started doing the small table tops past this drop-off and the drops that come off those angled sleeper logs. Pretty stoked with that so I reckon I know what's good for me, especially after seeing this: (00:42 is the drop-off in question):

@hairy - the ones just after the top berm, so yeah

I cracked my ribs there on a night in the week leading to the DC a good few years ago ... made the DC event very interesting to say the least.

When I do ever get to TK that little section always gets my heart rate up ....
