Getting a normal avid brake clamp from a lbs should be cheaper, (if I can find one)

I guess trying to fit XT shifters to Avid matchmakers will have the same fitment issues? Currently have SRAM but looking to switch to Shimano shifter to go 1x10 (only cause I have a long cage clutch rear deraillieur).
