Warm soapy water and a nice brush is perfect, then just rise it off with the same brush and some clean water.

 

Does giving the pistons a little lube around the sides with brake fluid actually do any noticeable help?

 

Because it will only be lubing in front of the piston seals and you can barely put much on there anyway because you don't want the fluid spreading onto the pads?

 

From the way i see it making sure the pistons are nice and clean is about all that needs to be done?

I also use alcohol when I clean brakes. Sometimes I even put some on the brakes.

My brakes will get nothing... ITS ALL MINE, MINE I TELL YOU!!!!
