To get 30 to 50km you will need to drop down to Rhodes Memorial into Newlands and then do Kirstenbosch to get into the greenbelts. In terms of permits, I actually have no idea... I ride on the mountain weekly and have an activity card, but I know many people ride there daily without any permits or anything. In the past, you required an activity card, but as of now, I don't know.

Contact them first to see what they have in stock before you make a trip to them.

Canyon Cafe in Stellenbosch can give you some options for a replacement set. If they don't have stock, it is normally a two week wait for parts.

Yes I 100% agree with that. It would be good to do it as something separate from the main race somehow.

@guidodg Have you guys ever considered incorporating that single track in the forest into the event? I know it was supposed to be at the end of the race, but it was taken out. Could you not hold a Friday "Strava Prologue" where the top 10 fastest times on a gravel bike get to start at the front of the bunch on the Saturday, or something like that? It is a really fun little piece of riding on a gravel bike.

And early days of Dirtopia a 7am start time could be 7:08 / 7:15 or maybe 7:23 😂

Hey everyone, As a quick update on our favourite two-wheeled hairy adventurer, @Jewbacca . His training for the Munga 2024 was rolling along really smoothly, and his bike was all set for the long road to Cape Town. However, life threw a bit of a curveball his way with some health issues over the past few months. But, in true Jewbacca fashion, he's tackling this challenge head-on with his signature humor and resilience. We will be online again soon to offend some and argue with others. After all, every epic adventure has its unexpected twists, and @Jewbacca is just gearing up for an even more legendary comeback and will be on the Munga start line next year no matter what.
