I tend to use FTP mostly for TSS, so I just bump it up if intensity factor reaches > 1. Been using 90% of max to pace intervals and it's been working better for me.

 

Do a lot of riding on the MTB with no power so just been estimating TSS for those rides anyway.

yeh - i follow pretty much the same formula.

 

You get a good feel for TSS once you've been using a power meter long enough, so i reckon my mtb rides estimated TSS is close enough.

 

that said, I wouldnt mind getting a MTb power meter
