Have you ever pulled to hard on you Brake Callipers on the road bike? what happend??? nuff said. Point two, if you using it on a single speed, I mean really, how fast are you planning on going with you fixed gear? You really need all that stopping power? But I'm open to new ideas aslong as they make sense to me and will improve my riding.

[/quote'] Friend of mine offered me one of these hubs for sale over the weekend. It's a DMR with two of those sprockets with the built-in freewheel, a 17 and 18. So, if you know of anyone that might be interested...? BTW....converted my GT to a SS this week. Haven't done a proper ride yet, but hoping to head out tonight or tomorrow.....I see pain.....lots of pain!

Didn't actually ask him as I've no need for it at the moment. Will ask him and let you know. Am ready believe me.....just really experimenting. Not keen to F up my knees just yet!

SS usually ridden on a MTB but still with brakes whereas the fixed gears are usually track bikes someone for some reason thought it would be cool to take on the road. I've read somewhere that the first bicycle messengers to ride with fixies were in San Francisco! crazy crazy! now you seem them in almost every city.
