standard vs shallow drops

What do you roadies prefer, shallow or standard drops? I currently have a FSA bar with a standard drop but am considering upgrading to a bar with a shallow.

I prefer shallow drop and short reach - Use FSA Bars.

I also ride short & shallow, the feeling i get from it is control.. also corners better for me when in the drops and really pushing the corners

I also changed to shallow drops recently and I find it alot more comfortable. I ride alot more in my drops, as it now easier to reach, and like Dewald ZA said, It feels if you have more control.

It seems the shallow is better for control and comfort then. What (if I may venture further) is a short and long reach?

The distance from your horizontal part of the handlebar (where the stem connects), to the bend where your shifters connect to, is called the reach.

Got it thanks! What measurements are you riding 42, 44? I have a 42, but it feels a bit short.

Shallow 44 with the stem right down feels best for me

42 Alu short and shallow Zipp for me. Love them. Find myself using shallow drops more often than when I rode deep.

Is everybody using shallow drops? It's only us newbies on standards? haha.
