I found the route marking sorely lacking. I got lost three times. Seems like i wasn't the only one. A couple of guys I chatted to enroute had the same problem.

Thanks to the lady and gent who helped me when I bought more shares at VG thanks for the assistance (ERIC BEWARE HOSTILE TAKE OVER )I am buying that place out from under you ,,,,,to the guy on the SS SPEED FAT BIKE that cut the lady off in front of me causing her to fall and me to get hooked into her bike spoiling her ride and obviously mine ,,,I DON'T KNOW IF YOU SAW it was called RIDE for rhino NOT RACE THE RHINO,, (apparently) the fat bike belongs to grant usher,,,,grant if you sent that guy out for advertising with your lekke bike,,,,FAIL, NOT BECAUSE THE BIKE isn't "SEXY VERBY " but the amount of people calling that rider a idiot, and the way he rode like a multitool ,maybe next time pick someone more interested in marketing the bike than personal glory in a RIDE........

Again to the Good Samaritans thanks if I am wrong about Grant owning the bike I,am sorry but when I asked about the bike at the start that's the story I got....I asked cause I want it!!!!

Also on a side note, i was pleasantly surprised with the goodie bag. We got socks, the plastic rhino horn , stickers and free Bavaria during and after the race . For a charity type of event we got more stuff than even Nissan Trailseeker events!!!

There was one section i distinctly remember wasn't clear (unless you stopped and inspected closely). I saw parts of the arrow sign lying on the ground, so i guess it fell off and got ridden over, however there was still a painted rock . It was a section where everyone was actually zig-zagging (about 35km mark) , so saw a few people being sheep and following whoever they saw, skipping entire sections (there was a track straight down ). Other than that, didn't have particular issues, especially since alot of the race was on jeep tracks it didn't require as much marking as the Nissan last week.

It's the first time I've ridden vg. Got lost with a bunch of guys near the beginning.first time was guilty of following blindly. Second time was on the downhill twin track. Missed the left.

I'm even more pissed of now that there's talk of free Bavaria during and after. I turned off before the finish line in case my superior navigation skills robbed someone of a hard earned position. I ended on 46k's so think I got my money's worth as far as distance goes.

Many thanks to the full faced helmet gent that lent me his bomb nozzle. Can't believe how many people rode past without stopping. They obviously knew about the free beer.

Ride the Rhino is the name of their multi-day event next weekend in the Cape.

I do however share the rest of your comments. Had a nast experience during the "race" with the same big-wheel cyclist.

As a matter of BY THE WAY, with many peeps shouting/swearing at the race snake, he didn't even turn around to check on the poor lady he cut off !!!!

Mnr you are one of the most chilled guys I know, for you to say this guy was being a tjop, he had to be one. Don't need guys like this at events, but sadly they will always be there.
