The route planning can be done on connect.garmin.com.

The upload to google can be done by exporting into gpx format and then import file to google, think you might be able to link directly to google and FB for that matter.

And well as far as after sales service is, you can NOT get better service than from Garmin SA.

Ja I think supervan wants to be able to

1.Create a route on google earth or other third party software

2.Upload to a device

3.Get turn by turn directions for the route he made while he is riding

Not even the edge 500 has turn by turn navigation(it has breadcrumbs, but not that clear)

MapMyRide - I've created routes via web browser (on pc), but have not been able to load them on the mobile app. Yet to try recording a ride and then re-riding it.

Best bet is Garmin 800 / 810.

Strava / Endomondo doesn't offer nav, and the 500 allows you to re-ride courses, as rouxtjie said, it's not the best.

I haven't tried it yet, but from Endomondo you can go and create a new route on the website, save it then on your phone where it says "Basic Workout" you change it to "Follow a route" select the route and it should navigate you.

OFF Topic...

Nope.

Apple SA decided not to recognise Apple internationals warrantee, I bought the phone from Apple UK while I was in the UK and Ireland on a business trip.

Apple SA is not APPLE !

They said they'll fix it at cost, oh that means they take the phone for 5+ days. I can't afford this, don't have another phone and they won't give me a loaner.

Autopage came to the party, they are upgrading me to the iPhone 5S as soon as they arrive, and also arranging me a loaner in the mean time. And it's not even their problem to fix.

Is it fixed yet?????
