Kevlar, Sintered or Semi- Sintered Brake Pads?

What's the benefits of the different Kevlar, Sintered or Semi- Sintered Brake Pads apart from price?

I just want the most brake power and I'm not very heavy so I'm assuming Kevlar pads are the best for me, I may be wrong though?

Kevlar is apparently the same as Organic?

I thought the brake pad material was related to the type of rotor you use?

For 99% of cases, not that I know of. Likely only an issue if you use those silly aluminium rotors which caused Kevin Evans to crash so hard a year or three ago.

Based on what I do know, it's pretty much a lifespan/performance sliding scale, much like with tyres. The softer the compound, the better it will perform, but the quicker it will wear out, and vice versa.

So the sliding scale starting from softest but most powerful to least powerful:

Kevlar, Semi- Sintered then Sintered

Is that right?

Apparently the sintered do start performing better than Kevlar when things get really hot?

Most stock/from the factory pads are semi-sintered from what I have been told.

Anyone know what the stock pads are for the Hope Tech X2 evo's are?

I use Baradine sintered on Avid HS1 160mm rotors, and must say they perform better than many semi or organic pads I've used before, a little bit noisy, not squeeking, more like a metal on metal kind of noise (obviously), but they last flippen long and performs 110% in wet and dry

Me - I only use sintered pads.

The rumour is that organic pads work better (better feel and modulation etc) and don't squeal as much. Problem is that they just don't last.

Sintered are almost fit and forget. Use those.

Ja sintered last forever, but the lever feel is cr4p though - they don't bite as nicely as kevlar/organic, that being from the one experience I've had with organic pads.

I see on forums from over the seas, that some guys use metal and resin per caliper. Anyone else used it like this before?

What like in each calliper one side sintered and the other pad organic?

That sounds interesting!
