Thanks ml!  I have been looking over her in Holland at Cree and Luxeon.  Might try some new setups if I get time.  My rechargeable batteries are not too great anymore' date=' so I am looking for a better charger.  Lots to search for...[/quote']

I got some of these batteries plus chargers.

There are better batteries, but the shipping to SA usually kills it.

These guys were not too bad (if you take the risk of sending via the SA post office...)

All arrived.

camp gear,  heavy duty aluminium flashlight. There's no more information on the package, not even where it's made except that it can be focussed and stuff like that. Wonder if it's made in SA maybe?

ML will order some for you if you want. I'm going past there tom morning. They arrive 4 pm from the packhouse, they close at 5:30 so you can pick them up after work. how many do you want?

Looks great, but isn't 2200mAh too high for the Luxeons?

Ai WH, moet ek jou nog die basics ook leer... (en daar gaan maak jy vir NT so skrik dat hy sy foto afhaal!)

2200 mAh is the capacity rating of the battery.

Actual current drawn will be determined by the impedance of the load.

Battery voltage is 14.8V. Most drivers (e.g. the BuckPuck) can handle that.

14.8V input voltage is just right to provide 3 LEDs in series with a constant regulated current from a buck type driver.

RE-USE and therefore I decided I'm going to use my cordless drill battery to power my 3x3W luxeon's. I hope I don't melt my front freeking tyre in the process :-)
