Hi guys

 

With us recently collecting money for 2 riders, first Fire, and excuse I can't remember the 2nd riders name, to assist in costs for travel etc.

 

How about:

 

We get Matt to open an account, a Non Profit (non taxable) type of account.

 

And those that are then keen can transfer a small affordable amounts monthly (via debit orders), or when they deem fit, as a single deposit... into this account,

 

The funds in this account can then be applied/donated to Teams or individual riders as we see fit, to assist in costs etc.

great Idea. Just make sure you register it as a NPO. Oom Sars might give you grief if you dont. Other than that its an awesoem idea. Maybe Admin would like to get involved as they would have the recources

Think we have enough Lawyers here to help with setting it up properly as a trust account/NPO.

 

And ye, admin will def be needed.

 

How do we decide, was thinking, anyone can make suggestion, but lets say we make a vote then for yes/no, and we need a min numb of yes's for the amount firstly, to define that and then second number of yes's to approve.

 

Maybe a rule like never more than 50% of available funds are allowed to go to a single cause, whatever the fund level.

Never same person, or org in a 6 month period.

 

At the moment just a high level idea/concept.

It a good idea...in principle!

 

This way the Hub can collectively make descisions and help where help is needed (after a consutative & majority "vote" on the web)

 

There are some problems /pitfalls to iron out first (they are by no menas prohibitive...)

 

i, for one still need to get around the fact that i'll be donating funds but will not have too much say in how it will be administered...where a person with zero contribution, can vote how my funds are being applied...?

I can see problem with the 0 contributor voting, outvoting the contributor votes, valid point.

 

Option might be, only those contributed can vote, might be implemented by once you've made a contribution you inform Admin/Matt,

When voting, he then only counts the one's he has on list,

Everyone still votes, just when decision count is done, it is filtered and he then notifies us all of the applicable counts.
