Furbz Posted October 29, 2013 Share Hi all, I wanted to have a set of darkhorse 38mm wheels built up with a G3 powertap unit. Darkhorse themselves cannot build the wheel as they do not stock the correct spoke lengths. If I still wish to try darkhorse wheels out in this fashion I need to buy the rim from them, and then find a wheel builder with the right length spokes. Must admit I would have thought darkhorse would have put a bit more effort in with regards to a request like this. Anyway, I wanted to use darkhorse wheels due to them being so light. If however there are other wheels out there in the same price and weight bracket please let me know, maybe they can assist me properly. Otherwise, can anyone point me in the direction of a good wheel builder? Cheers Edited October 29, 2013 by Furbz

NotSoBigBen Posted October 29, 2013 Share I would think from previous threads that there are a few 'good' wheel builders around so maybe you want to mention in what area? If in Midrand sort of area you can't go wrong with Ant at Summit Cycles 011-315-8311!

Furbz Posted October 29, 2013 Share Oh dear looks like this might not happen at all. The hub is a 20 spoke hub, darkhorse is a 24 hole rear and 20 front. I imagine using a front rim on the rear would not be a wise idea...
David Marshall Posted October 29, 2013 Share You can use the 20 hole Darkhorse rim on the rear. I would suggest more spokes for a more durable wheel if you don't have the hub already. I can cut and thread the spokes for you as well as build the wheel. Give me a shout (I'm on your doorstep). 072 222 7185
