What is the best lube for a MTB?

I have tried many for road and found Wynflon to be the best. But they all attracted dirt. I want something that attracts no dirt, or very little. Any suggestions?

Squirt... heard it's good stuff.

But... shhhhh, i use Q8 (silicon lube) fro any hard ware. Same concept, just cheaper.

Cleaning your chain - Q20 - alway's used it.

You make it sound as if oil has magnetic properties that make dust come flying along and stick to the chain. It doesn't work like that. Anything that's wet will trap whatever comes landing on it.

But you already said Wynflon is the best, so why bother with other potions and lotions?

When mountain biking, oil is oil and they'll all trap whatever dirt settles on them. The way to avoid this is to go for solid so-called lubricants such as the waxes so many people wax lyrical about. However, a wax is only a lubricant for the first few passes whereafter it's dry metal on dry metal.

When mountain biking, you're mixing grit with oil and that's that. No amount of mythical detergents and other space-age additives will make an iota's difference.

However, lubrication on bicycles is a religious matter. Just watch the high priests and mullahs tackle this one.
