What time did you get there, scotty? Bumped around for a couple of hours from about 7ish building up an appetite for the urban market and warming up the legs for some line-dancing  .

Was lekker riding weather this morning. Trails felt a little on the loose side...kept me honest at times!

I was there about same time, did a lap of yellow route then out for ride down High rd past Uncle Tims cabin (nice gravel section) and loop back home, 67km  :)

Also had a good ride this morning, fairly new to bcc mtb but I'm hooked, I really like this course I usually ride yellow but rode most of the red sections today, real good ride, I was pleasantly surprised.

Personally knowing how difficult it is to catch any of the top 5 times currently on the full red loop - this is a quite a difficult challenge.

However - I saw the route for the event does not include a lot of the current trail and has more of the open areas I suppose one of the racing snakes will take this one...

Power and speed - not so much skill???

Hi S14

Got it in one.

We are going to modify the end of the loop a little to include more jeep track with some intermittent single track and extend the race loop an extra 1km or so for an 8km lap. We will probably finalise it this weekend and upload the route onto the entry website.

We have tried to give as many jeep track runs between the forest sections as possible to eliminate any bottlenecks with both fast and slow cyclists sharing the trail.

We are also going to "cut" the singletrack sections much wider before the race to facilitate easy overtaking in the forests.

We really are trying to make this the very best cycling experience for all ages and abilities.

We do not want the race snakes frustrated or the casual cyclists intimidated. This race is for everyone to come and enjoy.

All forest singletrack routes have been specially selected to avoid any red route technical obstacles. The difficulty will be in the speed your ride through the forests (nothing new here  ^_^ )

EVERYONE - come along, enter and enjoy the party

Hi guys, the wife and I are getting back into cycling and I'm keen to take out membership and train here a few days a week from around 5:30 - 7:00 or so. Would this be a problem with management?

More importantly, is the place secure enough for the 2 of us to ride there at this time?

Thanks

Hi Lands250

You've come to the right place  :)

The only incidents we've had so far are cyclists being a danger to themselves . The forest management (peacocks) sometimes get a bit grumpy with the bikes zooming around early. 30 months in and no other incidents to report  .

As a member you have 24/7 access to the trail.

There is currently a new membership structure on the table. I am waiting for a reply from Darren (The CEO). As soon as I have the figures to hand, I will pass them on.

It is great to see you making use of and enjoying this wonderful trail.

Have fun and safe cycling.

I was "attacked" by a startled peacock this morning which flew right into me, don't know who got the bigger fright, judging by the sound it must have been me.

I was also attacked about 2 weeks ago - first by a rogue surface root then a tree stump then mother earth... in that order...

I never knew stationary objects could be so violent
