Welcome to East Cape Mountain Biking. We are part of the official East Cape Cycling Provincial Body which forms part of the structure set forth by Cycling South Africa.

Over the last few months there has been a drive to establish East Cape as one of the premiere MTB destinations in South Africa. With a diverse region stretching from East London to Port Elizabeth and including protected areas like the Tsitsikamma and Baviaanskloof; from lush forests to the beautiful karoo, East Cape is indeed an amazing Mountain Biking Country!

Our vision is to promote the best mountain biking experience available in the East Cape. In order to do this we will focus on our trails, riders and events. You will see this reflected in our site layout.

We are also happy to announce that we have a solid committee doing the behind-the-scenes work at East Cape Mountain Biking. Every individual, in some way or form, has been involved with mountain biking. Not only that, but each one also plays a prominent role in the East Cape Mountain Biking community, taking the lead in their different arenas. (See names below)

The future of Mountain Biking in our region is definitely in good hands and we are looking forward to 2014 and it being a great year for Mountain Biking in the East Cape!

Site looks really good, congrats.

Coming from PE I know there are many trails available. Longmore forests being one of the big areas. Personally I'd love to see more of it but also know that without someone who knows the trails you could potentially get lost in there for days.

Maybe some guided rides could be arranged.

Just a suggestion.

There are a few plans for Longmore regarding permanent, marked routes which will mainly be jeep track and forestry roads with sections of singletrack in between.

But while this is still in development, you can always join the rides that will be organised Fat Tracks. These rides will start from early next year, and Longmore will be ridden at least once a month (as long as the events calendar allows it).

Sound great, will keep an eye out for the rides. Joined a few of the rides earlier this year when Fat Tracks was doing the rounds at the various trails and really enjoyed that.

Great job you guys are doing.
