Snakes on Table Mountain: Some interesting facts to be aware of

Its ironic you put this on here today. We went for a little strole around Koeberg Reserve today when my wife had, what I want to call a near fatal, experience with a Cape Cobra. On a little hill, I'm 15m or so ahead, her and a friend behind me coming up the hill and as I stopped on top of the hill I saw the Cape Cobra crossing the gravel rd to the left side in her direction, we yeld stop stop but she didn't hear us and were looking down onto her handlebar, when she finally realised what's going on, the 1,5m Cobra was literally right under her left and she blocked he's path, starting lifting up to strike and thank God found a way around her back as she peddaled past it with absolutely fear overtaking her at that point,...so so lucky. I myself had four encounters with Cape Cobra's in the last 6weeks here in Durbanville trails. Be carefull and very aware of what's infront of you guys

We had an encounter with a Cobra coming off Dorsberg, Meerendal yesterday. My riding partner had to stop to let it pass. It was fully aware of her & completely unfazed by her presence. It was also too quick for her to get the camera out.
