Of the local boys are selling it fur just about the same as the overseas boys when the gpods are imported then that shows that the local bus are not fleecing you.....That isa good sign.

 

So you have the cash, want the goods and find the local boys to be fair with respect to their pricing.....go out and buy it tomorrow and support your lbs

Admittedly a lesser Epic than the S-Works may have given the same effect, but because I can afford the bike, I spoiled myself.

 

This pretty much sums up my comments from earlier. There is no reasonable justification for an amateur rider to pony up to an S-Works model over a Comp/Expert model. For 30% additional cost, you're getting a bike that's maybe 5% better, but your skills only allow you to utilise 20% of that 5%.

 

The maths just don't make sense, so I stand by my original opinion.

With cycling you pay for bling and weight. If you want to buy into the hype go for it. Don't moan. Just Nike it (see what I did there).

 

If you can get people to pay more for something then you have created perceived value, who cares what it cost to make they are in business to make money.

I've found saddlebags keep breaking due to the bumps experienced during mountain biking. My last one lasted two months and cost me a phone when it fell off in the rain. And that was a decent quality Lezyne.

 

So I'm a bit hesitant to recommend a saddlebag for mtb.

 

And it looks crap... ;-)

The SWAT kit is unbelievable and is such a convenience.  The price is actually R1800 and includes:

 

2 bottle cages 

Top cap chain tool 

Swat box 

multi tool  

tire levers

co2 

and an inner tube

 

You can buy that kind of convenience at any other bike manufacturer.  If you don't like it. Either tape everything to your bike or carry it in your pocket.

I thank my Z-cages at the bottom of every rough descent when i navigate all the lost water bottles ;-)
