I went for a night ride last night with a new light for the first time. The light weights about 400g.

I could honestly not notice much of a difference in the feel of the bike, but i seriously noticed the extra amount of light.

Now I hear you say but what about rotational weight? Actually not that much of a difference

I also used to be on mission to get my bike lighter but realized that you end up paying roughly R10 to loose 1 gram once you get close to 10kg bike. So to loose a 100 grams will cost about R1000.

At the end i just don't think it's worth it. Better handling and tyres will make you faster IMHO, so rather get the bike fit right and swap out bar or stem if you have to.

If you want to go 1x10 rather do so for the simplicity of the system. Unless you are a pro and 3 seconds will make a difference.
