hell, after the byatching about the vagaries of the seeding and how you should really be in A-D, 'cos of my results', despite the madness of hospital bend.

Despite the constant wish to do a sub 3 (now killed by your seeding, obviously), the perceived danger of lots of cyclists on totally closed roads rather than the actual danger of southern suburbs drivers and taxi's day to day!

The argus is a great event to enjoy. To ride, to experience and to be part of something so big, in a city so beautiful. To be cheered on like you will never be in any other 'race' and to put aside number chasing to ride (hard and fast) with your friends and not worry as much as you should at the Burger about position, time and all those things that will stop you having a great argus rather than a good / bad / moderate race.

I race the rest of the year and always want to sneak a sub 3 on Argus day but come the kick off it's gone as soon as I past UCT and all that nervous, competitive energy fades away.

Then it becomes fun. Yup, worlds biggest fun ride and that's not an insult.
